It seems that contemporary visionaries are less and less interested in producing mind-blowing structures which impress us with new forms and materials. They prefer to rethink and re-interpret existing buildings, even the most boring and mundane ones, turning them into containers for future unimaginary programs.
Reinterpretation is not the most visually striking form of visionary production, yet in the current situation it is perhaps the most relevant. If architects want to seriously consider the impact of construction on the environment and confront the extractive nature of the current building industry, it is time to find alternatives to demolition, adapting what is already built to the next demands. In this small collection various models for future actions are on display and on trial.
